Flowers

The client-supplier relationship is an odd one. The dynamic can range from an (intolerable and unsustainable) spin on "I say jump, you say "How high?"" to something far more akin to a partnership, which I always enjoy.

You can often get a feel for how it will go at the first meeting and even in the prickliest of initial circumstances you can get a feeling that, actually, once the working relationship is established, everything will be fine.

Today's first meeting with a prospective client was a new one on me as it transpired that the engineer I was talking to had been at school with my elder daughters. It was a very weird feeling, like an odd inversion of going into school to do mock interviews with the young people.

Anyway, it all went well enough, I think, (he was an interesting and pleasant guy) and then I went to meet my friend Tony for a coffee at Brew Brothers.  After that, it was back to the office for the afternoon, a swim on the way home, and a stroll 'round to Booths, where I treated myself to flowers, and then an earlyish night.
