16C with lots of little clouds whizzing by in the wind. Showers forecast.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk before lunchtime to avoid the forecast showers. No bale making or collecting happening in the fields as we wandered around the bales in the field where the bridle path is. I was interested in the textures of the bales in their wrappings, and a piece of wrapping that I found in the stubble. Maeve was off her lead for a while but chose to have a wander down the field with me rather than run today. Just as we got to the bottom of the field we heard what sounded like a tractor and sure enough a tractor with a trailer had appeared at the top of the next field. Bale collecting this afternoon.
We wandered along the cycle path to the level crossing and crossed over and went down on the beach. Tide well out today. Lots of firm damp sand for walking on. All of the rocks were on full view today. It is such a different sight from high tide when the water covers the rocks completely.
The man with the four whippets was coming along the beach towards us, but we climbed up the dunes to the Fishermen's huts before our paths crossed. No one at the huts. The most recently restored tractor is having some sort of equipment fitted to the front. Hard to tell what it will be yet, but I think some sort of supports for a platform to carrying creels and fishing gear. Resembles rusty girders more than anything else at the moment.
One person loading things into the boot of a car at the cottages as we walked away from the huts. There was a smallish dog lying in the sun outside the cottage. It didn't bother to get up as we walked past. Maeve kept an eye on it as we walked on, turning round again and again as she does. She likes to know whats happening behind her.
Later the forecast showers came along.
