Preparation for SAR day and celebrating Ben
Busy day today which had me on the ferry 4 times!!! Can't remember when I've been in town twice in one day.
Took friend Sharon into town to apply for China visas. As Hong Kong is celebrating its 20th anniversary since handover, there was sooo much going on everywhere. And we really felt like we were in the right place at the right time, especially since Xi Jinping (Chinese premier) is in town and we were in the China Reaource Building in Wan Chai. These protesters/demonstrators were in the open space outside China Resource building.
There were helicopters flying around, police buses and vans everywhere and a real excitement about the place. I think HK police will be working overtime today and tomorrow.
After an unsuccessful attempt at visa application (we'll have to go back next week!), we headed to Central to check out a shoe shop that had special offers on for summer.
We did walk around town to see what else might be happening but the heat and sweat wore us out and we headed back to DB.
Came home to finish icing Ben's cake (in extra). He chose to go into town for Thai food to celebrate. Extra shows my three boys in Lan Kwai Fong which was abuzz with celebrations and revellers.
We left Jon and Ben in town to continue partying while Martin and I headed home.
Tomorrow, big anniversary celebrations in town.
