Paul and myself at Mote Park.
Back blip 5
Up and out after signing out of the hotel to Bearsted Park to explore abit more. They were cutting the grass but had left a 'meadow area' where lots of butterflies were fluttering about.
Next to Mote Park to meet my brother. Really hot so we all needed an icecream to cool down. We sat on the benches and watched a family of swans swimming on the lake.
We walked down to see the Canada Geese. We used to go Mote Park alot when we were kids. The extra shows one with my grandad feeding the geese. We used to go paddling in the little streams and Paul stood on a frog once. It was one of the first places that Mike and myself went to. It has nt changed much, even the loos which could do with a makeover, and we had an enjoyable hour or so.
We then made our way North and we made it to Dunstable Downs in no time at all as the roads were clear. It was boiling hot so after a cup of tea Mike went back to the car and I walked back to the meadow. Lots of butterflies including Brimstones but they were very flighty. A patch of plants near the carpark had butterflies resting including a lovely small tortoise shell and a six spotted burnet moth so much easier to photograph.
We had dinner at the harvester and then back to the Holiday Express for our final night down South.
