Whipsnade with Sally
An extremely hot day spent at Whipsnade with my friend Sally. We had a great day, chatting while we walked around looking at the animals. The park was busy with school visits and reminded us of the school visits we had been when we had both worked at Gade Valley.
We visited the penguins where one of the Pools had been drained and hungry little penguins followed the Zoo keeper around.
We spotted a Marra with a tiny baby, watched the giraffes being feed, saw the elephants having fun in the mud, they really looked like they were smiling. We walked through the very hot butterfly house filled with very pretty, colourful butterflies, one looked just like a leaf. We spotted the three baby crocodiles in the tank.
We sat and had lunch neat to the pelicans and saw a Mallard with really tiny babies making sure they stayed away from the big beaks of the pelicans.
The lemurs came out and rested in the shade with the stripey tails curled round their backs.
An ice lolly cooled us down before it was time to get back in the car and say goodbye. The time went really quickly but very enjoyable, thankyou Sally for spending the day with me :)
