Schnauzer fun!
I went to the gym this morning while JR attended to her cleaning job executive housekeeping position. I was pleased when a new gym instructor came and spoke to me about my complaints re sweaty folk men not wiping equipment after they've dripped all over it. He completely agrees, and asked me to point out the offenders, but there were none of the regular drippers there. Maybe tomorrow!
I mowed the lawn when I came back, JR iced her carrot cake ready for our afternoon visitors. We were quite excited, because not only were Forthports and his Better Half visiting us, but also Murphy and Mabel, their borrowed schnauzers!
Archie was a bit nervous, because he'd heard that Mabel was a feisty wee madam who likes nipping dogs to put them in their place. But he need not have worried, she was a sweet natured little thing, as was Murphy.
Tea and cake was taken in the sunshine in the back garden (just the humans), then, after the obligatory photo shoot on the bench (which proved troublesome, as Mabel and Murphy are not used to posing for the camera) we all went for a walk up the hill. Mabel then lived up to her reputation by charging up to every other dog we met and noisily chasing them. Feisty!
Another photoshoot was attempted with Arthur's Seat in the background. Apart from beards blowing everywhere (just the dogs' - not Forthport's), getting all the dogs to sit for two seconds proved absolutely impossible, though Archie did oblige, bless him. Another shoot was set up on the bench, this time a wee schnauzer puppy, Reggie, joined us. But what a shambles that was too. I gave up. It was only when they were trapped in the back of the Landy that I could get a decent group shot. Though Archie looks slightly worried - he thought he was about to be being driven off in a strange vehicle.
No, Archie, not a strange vehicle - Forthport's beloved Landy.
A fun afternoon!
Extras: Archie continues posing while the other two wander off and Mabel and Murphy posing for one last shot. Obliging to the last!.
