I went to...

...art group today, but only a couple got their art stuff out. It was mostly conversation going on, and since I cannot follow conversation and paint I decided to abandon any painting.

With this new cochlear mapping, I still cannot yet follow conversation among my friends without an intense amount of lip-reading.

With the older previous mapping, it was a combination of some lip-reading, a few sound clues, and a fair amount of guesswork to be interactive within the group as regards conversations.

I cannot get to that place yet within my art group. However, it is easier than that first time three weeks ago. Today I was flagging half way through. And went to bed as soon as I got home.

I didn't know what I could do for a painting today. Was that bit too tired to do one. So in the end, got acrylics out and a thin paint scraper. And scraped these colours on a 5" by 7" canvas board. These were colours I had seen in my head while resting in bed, but the shapes had been more rounded.

There is something else I might want to add to this at a later point...something to do with music, but will explain another time. I have a long day tomorrow so I need to get to bed...

So this is my pic for today for my challenge to myself of a pic every day in 2017.

Some one at the art group gave me a set of oil paint tubes and a canvas board. Oil paints are not my thing. Not tried them before. So I might have a go this weekend outside if it is fine, and use them up. I would use a palette knife. A brush would be too hard for me. I think I am going to need something...not turps but something else...will have to google in a minute.
