Over the border
We headed north today and over the Scottish border to St Abb's Head. Sunshine was still in short supply this morning and there were some black looking clouds as Dad, Bailey and I walked the coastal path to the lighthouse. It was one of those paths and one of those destinations that seemed to shift but we did make it eventually. It is not as impressive as some of its near-lighthouse-neighbours in terms of height but its clifftop location is pretty impressive. We had a good view down into St Abb's from the path and not too many ups on the way there but we were all - Bailey included - huffing and puffing on the way back. He did very well but has been mainly sleeping ever since.
We had a crab sandwich at the cafe near the car park and a browse in the art gallery before heading back down south. A bit of a shop in Seahouses on our return and a bit of excitement with the alarm going off for a lifeboat call out. We watched it being launched and saw it out at sea but couldn't work out what the emergency was. The view from the balcony was also enhanced by huge clouds above Bamburgh Castle.
Bailey stirred his bones enough for a final walk down to the harbour before the sun went down.
