Dunluce Castle (Castle Greyjoy to G.O.T fans)

This morning we set off for the Giant’s Causeway but our first port of call was the “Dark Hedges” of Game of Thrones fame.  The old twisted beech trees overhanging the road is a great sight, but as with any tourist attraction, hard to photograph without lots of tourists in them (yup, me being one of those tourists).

From there it was on to the Giant’s Causeway, and the natural columns are as fascinating as everyone has claimed.  Once again, there must have been a thousand people there but it was still well worth the visit.  Nature is pretty incredible (or the giant who built it).

After lunch we headed towards Derry, with a wee side trip to Dunluce Castle.  Otherwise known as Castle Greyjoy, Balon’s seat on Pyke (Game of Thrones again).

It was nice to arrive in Derry (Londonderry) with plenty of time to have a wander across the Peace Bridge and around the old city walls.  So many photos taken, so hard to choose blips!
