The best of a bad lot...

After another type of adventure, the camera got picked up, the puppy got collected and off we went to a very interesting place called the Perea Nature Trail near San Ysidro, New Mexico (on US550). It is on the Rio Puerco and warrants much further exploration when it isn't as late in the day at 32F with quite a wind.

The pup had quite an adventure and consistently lept over obstacles, even big ones rather than run around them. The tail was going so hard when he stopped he would almost fall over. After an hour we turned around and headed back.

In spite of a full moon and stunning scenery, we got a lot of mediocre shots. Nothing much worked and it was close to another baby picture day, not that that is any great loss. My camera that was at the doc has come home without lens crunchies, but now has a big circular blotch in the sky. Argh...

Today, I give thanks for my day, the sun, the wind and the pup (forces of nature) and strangely (I am a fat old lady), my body, which lets me climb 3 flights of stairs without loosing my breath and cover a couple of miles in the cold wind with only numb fingers to show for it. We are pretty amazing creatures.
