Saturday is when my daughter attends her Cantonese class. Last year I would typically spend those hours sitting in the staff room chatting to a friend and fellow parent. Today we both decided to enjoy the sunshine and head towards the electrical department of John Lewis to tut-tut at the rampant and over-the-top technology on display there. Lots of toys to dismiss as ephermeral fads, but it was also very hard not to be impressed by the screen quality of the 27-inch iMac and this bad-boy.
This portrait was taken later in an open market outside. She had a stall selling crafts and jewellery items and we first had an interesting chat about her and her wares. That yellow thing around her neck is probably the biggest sweater I've ever seen, but she said she was from Brazil and feels the weather in Scotland. Not that it was particularly cold today...
