Al, our farm dog

This is Al, our Border Collie farm dog. We've had him since he was a puppy - he turns 5 in November.

Al is an enthusiastic working dog, full of energy, and loves to think he is doing a marvellous job. Most of the time he does; some of the time he gets a bit carried away, and doesn't do what he is told - especially if one of our other 3 farm dogs are out working as well. Al loves rolling in mud, and wait for it - eating afterbirth! YUK! On a hot day, he also loves a dip in the river retrieving sticks, bringing them back to me, and then having a good shake, while standing next to me. What fun!

Our oldest son C went on school camp this morning. It was sad seeing him go, home won't be the same without him, but I'm sure he will be having a fantastic time. Roll on the end of the week when he returns!
