Buttermere in the Rain

It was damp and grey for my mother's first full day in the Lakes. We went down to Buttermere and walked by the lake, which never fails to impress in any weather. The larches have lost their bright green springtime flush, and stand ready to provide shade on a hot summer's day - not needed much this year.  We finished up with homemade ice-cream at Wilkinsyke Farm. Highly recommended!
