Isel Bridge.
This week A&B is running so we decided on a quick trip. A&B stands for Art at Blindcrake, a little village near Cockermouth. On the way there passing over Isel Bridge we noticed \ little wicket gate and decided on the way back to have a look.
Blindcrake has a number of artistic people for such a small village so every year they hold this event. There were 4 artists in the village hall with exhibits including painted glass and felt work. One lady has a studio in her home anyway and a photographer sets up a gallery in his home. So we enjoyed an interesting and varied time.
On the way back the wicket gate proved interesting and I liked this shot of the single arch (the briudge has 3). We were a little puzzled by the identical wicket on the other bank marked strictly private when there was clearly a bench with a plaque suggesting it was a memorial to somebody.
Then we stopped at Blackstock Point part of the Bassenthwaite Lake National nature Reserve. However going by the people we saw it should be labelled dog walking area.
