Buckle Yeat

This pretty house stands in the hamlet of Near Sawrey, just down the road from Beatrix Potter's home at Hilltop. She used a number of her neighbour's homes as the backdrop to her illustrations, and Buckle Yeat was one of these.

The Puddle-Ducks waddle past in "The Tale of Tom Kitten". Duchess, the Pomeranian dog reads her invitation to tea with Ribby the cat while standing in the front garden surrounded by flowers (much like the garden today) in "The Pie and the Patty-Pan".

My old school-friend and I were brought up with Beatrix Potter's lovely Tales, so we had a fabulous day re-living memories.
