First blip with new camera

Friday already? Where do the days go? Another packed but only partly successful day. I went swimming in the morning doing a few things back at home before lunch.

We set out to do a mammoth juicing of apples this afternoon only for the juicer to fail after the first batch of 1 litre. We peeled and cooked the remaining apples, washed up the juicer, re-assembled it and hey presto! It worked again. Instead of getting all the stuff out again we did other things: Susan cooked Mushroom Bourguignon from the Hairy Dieters Veggie book for tomorrow evening's supper while I firmed up some hardcore on the step into the studio.

As it was such a pleasant evening we combined a walk to the supermarket with a visit to the Oak on the Green for a drink, carrying my new camera for the purpose of taking the first shot. I couldn't see a shot and thought I was going to be limited to a photo of "Dog Ale" - a barrel of water for dogs at the pub when on the walk home the sun was obligingly setting along the road - so you were saved the barrel shot.
