Amsterdam by night

So tired when we woke up this morning!  We decided to take it a little easier today, especially as we had a boat trip planned for the evening, so we had a reasonably slow start and a lovely walk all round the beautiful Vondelpark, stopping at the tea house there for a late lunch.  After that, we went back to the hotel for a short rest in the afternoon, then back out again for the evening.  We caught the metro and tram back to Leidesplein, went for a beer in a café, and then for dinner at Wagamama (not very authentic Dutch, but it's what we fancied!).

After that we had a little wander along the canal and then checked in for our evening cruise.  Lovely to see the city again (including some new bits we'd not seen yet) from the water as daylight gave way to dusk and then dark.  The boat was enclosed but I sat by a window and had that open most of the time (apart from when the heavens opened at one point!) and snapped away quite happily through it.

Got back to the hotel around 11pm, had another quick drink (hey, it's a holiday!), and then got off to bed for a damn good sleep :)
