September started with a bang: pounding and hammering on the front porch.
Eric's brother Gregg is an old house expert, and today Eric helped him free the porch posts from the floor so we can replace the floor. I think the porch will have a very sore jaw when it's over, maybe a better visual would be to say it'll have a sore rib cage; the process makes me think of dental braces or a stretched rib cage during open heart surgery.
With minimal sawing, they freed the posts and clamped them to sturdy timbers which is now what is holding up the porch.
Yikes, we'd better get this over and done before something snaps.,
