Princes Street
A varied and enjoyable day. Bulk of it at the quarterly Area Convener Liaison Group looking at some strategic issues and discussing policy options. One of the sessions was entitled "Volunteer shoes" - seeing things from the volunteer's perspective. The extra was the other potential blip for day!
Then catch up afterwards with colleagues before I headed off to our friends' book launch party, held at the New Club. The view from the terrace is a special one looking both ways down Princes Street but I liked this one with the view of St Mary's Cathedral in the distance.
Then on to meet up with friends from my Cabinet Office days, some 30+ years ago. We'd not been able to get to London for their 40th wedding anniversary so were delighted to see them on their visit to Edinburgh.
