Lycaena phlaeas
We've entered the last week of butterfly transect recording for 2017 (although there is optional recording until the end of October). I had a quick walk around the woodland transect this morning and there was still plenty of activity - commas, speckled woods, red admirals and small coppers. I saw this small copper sat on the seed head of Devil's Bit Scabious on the outward leg of my walk and almost an hour later on the return it was still in exactly the same spot. Must be asleep.
