Well that was exciting! The spaniel and I took a short cut across the heathland this afternoon and came across this unexploded two inch mortar bomb. The Army were supposed to have cleared all the ordnance off the site at the end of the war when it ceased to be an infantry training area but this is the second one I've found this year https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2404704682803989412. I phoned it in and then two hours later, by which time it was completely dark, the fire service phoned saying they couldn't find it so I had to go back out and take them to it. Sussex Police also turned up for a look and I left them waiting for the Army bomb disposal people to respond.
