Straight as a Di
A pretty miserable day here - raining lightly on and off for most of the time. I spent a lot of the day getting the Photo Club entries ready to send off to the judge. It's our first competition of the year, 'Open 1', and as anything goes, the easiest.
I did go down to the Millennium Garden this afternoon to see about moving in a big square wooden trough to stop the kids running along the back of the garden. That's not a problem in itself, but then they break out by running through the flower beds. The new plantings and compost mulching from last week are already being trampled! Perishing kids! Don't parents tell their children anything these days! Anyway, Homebase have agreed to give us the compost and anything else we need - they are very good.
I did take a few pics, but having Blipped this garden a few times I thought I'd be a little more creative (but not a lot!) and spell out the name of the runner beans from which we'd had such a good crop in the organic tunnel this year. So many of them grew so quickly that we're going to keep them for seed, both to sow and to give away - there's loads more to come! 'Lady Di' is a tasty, pretty stringless and usually very straight bean; it would be good for showing too.
