Today's the day ......................... for a brief encounter
Just for a moment, when I arrived at Carnforth Station Heritage Centre this afternoon on Volunteer duty - I really felt that I had gone back in time. The little cinema area, where we show the iconic film 'Brief Encounter', was filled with people all dressed in 1940s' clothing. It looked like a scene straight out of the film.
It turned out that they were a group of friends from the south of England who all shared a passion for the life-style and fashion of the 1940s. They were up in the Lake District on a week's holiday and they were spending their time visiting places where they would feel at home. They fitted in perfectly at Carnforth Station where many of the scenes from 'Brief Encounter' were filmed.
These two kindly agreed to pose for me at our mock-up of that famous railway carriage door. And they certainly looked the part .......................
