The Literary Walk
I led the Literary Walk today with author, Robert Bluck. His novel, Mr Woodreve's Reflection, is set partly in Allen Banks, where we walked. It was a lovely walk. The autumn colours are starting to show and it was sunny and mild all day. Robert had prepared a series of readings from the book and read them very well, with enough drama to keep everyone listening.
Sadly one of the walkers could not manage the walk and had to be rescued by Miranda on car back up. The pace of the walk was very slow but we made it to the woodreve's cottage for tea and cakes. Very yummy.
The forecast for tomorrow is dire and I've had to cancel The Creepy Crawl walk. We are promised high winds and heavy rain so finding invertebrates would be rather tricky to say the least.
We've had to think about alternatives for the other walks, but hope they can go ahead just as planned. Perhaps people need to carry weights to keep them in contact with the ground beneath their feet!
Maureen is missing from my group photo because she was waiting to use her camera too.
