Plantation Cottage

I've not posted an historic building from Bearsted for a while. This is Plantation Cottage, which according to British Listed Buildings is:

A two story C15 or C16 house with rendered timber framing and plain tile roof on stone plinth. The right gable end is jettied with first-floor tension braces. The hipped roof has a with gablet at right end. The chimney is off-centre towards left in front slope of roof. It has irregular windows of one 3-light leaded casement towards either end of first floor and one small central window. The central ribbed door is in a  C20 timber-framed porch on brick base with plain tile roof with a lean-to at left end.

Apart from that I was left to my own devices this morning to get on with various tasks from the List while others went to the Doctors. This afternoon after our walk we were invited to the Allotment Committee Meeting to help plan a campaign of action. Good to be invited as I'd written to them explaining how we felt. Some good outcomes from the meeting which will help move things forward. The Council have a battle on their hands as we are not going to let this go.
