Boating Weather

The day dawned warm and sunny, and just got warmer. Seems like a good day for a boat trip on the lake. We visited Isola Bella, it is a beautiful island and we had a lot of walking around the Borromeo villa, the famous garden and around the various little alleys on the island.

Instead the photograph shows Isola dei Pescatori (fishermens' island) with the mainland behind.

This evening we managed something which is quite hard to find in Italy, a disappointing meal. One problem with Baveno seems to be finding restaurants outside of hotels. As we had a good meal at the only restaurant we have found so far we went somewhere different. Our hotel had suggested a place which turned out to be full. Never mind, we drowned our sorrows with a bottle of Barbera when we got back tot the hotel.
