Working hard to the end

It's been a glorious autumnal day here today. There is a nip in the air and the low sun has bathed the landscape, creating light and shade.

In the garden the last few flowers are hanging on. After the golden rod, the Michelmas daisies will open. Crowds of insects are hanging around, hoping for more food. The golden rod was the main food source in the last light of the day. I like the warmth of the yellow in this image.

No walking today - I'm resting a sore knee, hoping it will behave on Saturday's long walk.
