Spooks in Haworth.
We had a fab walk this morning thanks to Wilsden Walker.
Four of us did about 2/3 of The Railway Children walk around Haworth only about half of which had I done before.
Leaving Oxenhope Station We crossed the track to climb up above the Worth Valley passing the Three Chimneys house that was used in the making of the original (Jenny Agutter ) film of the Railway Children.
There were great views of Haworth and the valley but the light was very poor so not good for distance shots.
We dropped down into Haworth in front of the Bronte Parsonage and church and into, the iconic Main Street. For a moment we thought we had mistimed our walk and were too early for halfway refreshments but thankfully 'Cobbles and Clay' opened at 8.45 and we were bang on time!
Bacon sandwiches went down very well with a hot drink. Someone had an egg in theirs and someone else had chocolate pancakes - no names! (Extra) Had an unexpected FaceTime from Grace whilst there so all the ladies got a 'wave' from Eda. She is now 8lb 1oz that's one and a half pounds weight gain since she was born 4 weeks ago tomorrow.
It was a bit brighter as we left but distinctly cooler. I was surprised to see som much American style Halloween decoration at the bottom of Main Street but then read posters announcing the forthcoming Haworth Halloween Weekend.
This B&B was particualarly over the top, hence my blip.
Returning along the river (Worth) and railway ( Keighley and Worth Valley) side we saw the first steam train of the day, no doubt very busy due to half term.
Really enjoyed it, thanks again S!
First Pilates for 3 weeks this afternoon, going to suffer later!
