Backside View

This little chipmunk is called a least chipmunk and is distinguished from regular chipmunks because of the stripes on its back and face.  He/she lives in the woodpile next to the area where there is a firepit and benches in the backyard.   It is not a squirrel so I like it!

I have not seen it for several days so it might have been staying warm from the snow we had.  This morning it was out in the sunshine and eating the tiny millet seeds from the birdseed I have been throwing out.  The jays eat all the big stuff like the sunflower seeds and leave the tiny so this critter will have a good stockpile of food for the winter.     

He moves really quick and his tail goes all the time!     A low view (maybe not quite as low as a frog) for monomonday.
