Today's the day ......................... for an aerial view

We left a fog-bound Marco Polo Airport near Venice this morning.

But before long, we had risen above it all and by the time we were flying over the Austrian Alps, the view was stunning.  Apparently, we were battling against a 110-mile per hour head wind which kept our speed down to a mere 350 miles/hr.  Even so, we were only five minutes late touching down in Liverpool less than three hours later.

It has to be said, though, we've had such a wonderful few days in Venice that it's going to take us a while to come back down to earth ....................
