War Memorial

Today's the day ………………………. to remember

The War Memorial in the little village of Ringford near Kirkcudbright today. 

There was a short service of remembrance and poppy wreaths were laid at its base.  The names of local men killed in the First World War were read aloud and a minute's silence observed.  Then everyone went back to Ringford Hall for soup and sandwiches.

The same sort of thing would have been repeated today in many, many places throughout the whole country and further field …………………..
