Weird & Wonderful

When Hilary said that maybe the starlings were gathering to see "that weird woman from Switzerland" I knew I had a title for today's blip.

To be able to share a wildlife experience like this with someone who loves the natural world as much as H was a privilege. I've deliberately blipped the Blipper (it's a bit of a tradition of ours now), but if I'd made another video there'd have been lots of "wow's" to go with the weird and wonderful.

My extra needed a lot of processing to make the starlings show - but I wanted to try and capture a sense of just how vast the murmuration has become. At one point there were two huge flocks probably a mile apart - when they merged... well, what can I say. Wow.
