Balance
Out in the garden this afternoon pruning the roses. “French pruning” is how my mother describes it at this time of the year. Never heard anyone else use the term.
The aim is to reduce the taller stems so that the winter winds don’t cause damage. But leave the harder pruning until after 17 March. In recent years I’ve found that date far too late as by then there is a good spurt of growth.
This little friend appeared again interested in the grubs and seeds I disturbed. He kept his distance but at times was within a metre or so. Always on the move though.
