Our Christmas Elf!

Our oldest grandson Jackson used to live about 45 minutes from Mr. W's parents here in Florida, but he moved to South Carolina this summer.  Nevertheless, he and his mom and step dad drove to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with family in Palm Bay, so we got to spend the day with our boy today! 

Together we went and bought a little artificial Christmas tree and some decorations to bring some holiday cheer to Mr. W's dad's and Jackson's Great Grandfather's room, and Jackson and I put it together for him.  Jackson did most of the work, and as you can see he did a beautiful job, including the judicious placing of the candy canes!  (Any broken ones were, of course, relegated to the "I'll have to eat that one" pile!)

A lovely, laughter-filled day with our own Christmas elf -- he brought some much-needed sunshine to us today.
