Diary of an Edinburgher

No mud today

No sign of my new bike yet, so I'm taking advantage of this situation, watching 'Homes Under the Hammer' while relaxing with my breakfast bagel and coffee on the sofa instead.

We decided to take advantage of a sunny (cold!) day and take a wander along to a dog friendly establishment that we hadn’t yet inspected. It was just far enough away to have me gasping for a chair by the time we got there, but hey, I’m not doing any biking.

We were quite impressed. Not only were they dog friendly, they loved dogs. They waiter came and patted Archie and said he loved working there because dogs were allowed. The music wasn’t loud, or screechy. In fact, Neil Young was warbling along at one point - can’t complain about that.

We shared a delicious meal of roasted vegetables, pesto, burrati cheese and salad on a focaccia bun (Extra). And chips.

Archie has a wee habit of tugging my duffel coat and growling like crazy when I put it on. (He's not allowed to do this with my down coat, obvs.) this is a fun game in the hallway, but it can get quite embarrassing in a public place, so it has to be done swiftly and he and I depart, leaving JR to pay the bill.

He didn’t see any mud today! In fact, he's so clean, he doesn’t need a wash. But he did have a bonus visit from Elizabeth, who brought us back a bit of birthday cake. That's tea sorted, then.

I think I’ve cracked the jury citation. I've got a hospital appointment on the same day, just for some routine tests, but it can’t be postponed. Yay.
