Lessons learned
In the form of a short poem:
I will not do
Scissors and Glue
With Y2
It makes me blue.
Also, I have learned that younger students find it:
* very difficult to take their own pulse particularly because
* they can't find it
* when they do find it they don't concentrate on counting
After the third student told me a ridiculous pulse rate today, I stopped panicking that I had a group of students with racing hearts. Once I had taken the pulse of the 15th student, I was able to reassure them all that they were indeed human, not vampire and that they had blood pumping around their circulatory system.
It was entertaining to say the least.
I have not stopped all day. Till now and I have realised I am hurting.
However, my ostrich behaviour has continued and means that I can hand all of my planned work over tomorrow and leave tomorrow afternoon with a clear conscience, knowing that I have done as much as I can to leave my children able to progress without me. I am sure they won't miss me one little bit, but I know that once the anaesthetic has worn off, I will be fretting about them as much as I will be about me!
Sad sod that I am.
