Yet another calf

Yes, I know, I have blipped another calf. This bull calf was born during the day, and as we don't have many cows left to calve, I thought I should make the most of photographing a new born. I love the dark rich colour of this calf - although I'm not sure where that has come from. His mother is a Kiwicross (1/2 friesan and 1/2 jersey), and his father is full jersey. So strictly speaking I would have thought he would have been a lighter jersey colour. Unfortunately this calf will be off to the meat works next week.

Another wet day today, with intermittent fine periods. I just wish we could have a few days of fine sunny weather.
