Nameless Pond
There are several ponds along the trail. They vary in general pondiness according to the weather and the time of year. It's been a very dry summer, so one or two of them aren't quite there anymore. All of them are too small to have names, although I have nicknames for some of them.
The weather is much warmer now. As usual, when the weather warms up after the first frost, we are plagued with Asiatic Ladybirds aka Halloween Beetles. Not clear how they are getting in, but getting in they are, and the house resembles a battlefield. I fell asleep last night to the Thwack! Thwack! Thwack! sound of Mr. Lightwave's nightly ladybug offensive.
Big bonfire at Matt's tonight to celebrate his birthday. Oh yes, and there was a really nice pileated woodpecker on the pine tree when I came back from my walk.
