Diary of an Edinburgher

Back to the gym (reluctantly)

A very slow start (for me) this morning, but I did eventually get to the gym. It was rather mobbed with folk feeling guilty after eating far too much of late. Or maybe that was just me. The cross trainers were too busy, so after my leg and arm work, and the dizziness-inducing big ball knee bends, I gave up and came home (didn’t bother with the pool) and did a half hour on the bike.

JR popped out to return an unwanted item, and I took Archie round to the Links and the Meadows. Still lots of crunchy snow. And there was a lovely pink sunset - I really should have been up the hill for the panoramic sky views.

Last night, and most nights of late, Archie has had a wee 'turn'. He suddenly leaps off the bed and wanders around. He may woof at the back door, and one of us lets him out, hoping he doesn’t waken the neighbourhood up by barking at nothing. He just has a sniff all around the garden, and comes in when he feels like it. Or he may just growl to himself about something, then come back to bed. Or scratch frantically at the rug. Sometimes he does this a couple of times a night. Hmmm. Perhaps a visit to the vet in the New Year will be necessary...
