Castle Hill.....

....also known as Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area. 

Castle Hill Basin lies  between the Torlesse and Craigieburn mountain ranges. The grand limestone rock battlements of Kura Tawhiti led early European travellers to name the area Castle Hill.

Wonderful to take a break in the day and spend a few hours just exploring this amazing area. Lots of history, plenty to see, it's always busy as the tour buses stop here but there's room for everyone and it's free. Not to be missed if your're passing by.

Thursday.......was overcast and cool at Castle Hill although my extra looking towards the Torelesse range shows blue sky and cloud hugging the range, certainly a change of atmosphere between the two and yet they sit just across the road from one another.
