Amarillis accident

Totally self supportive the amarilis grew taller from her bulb that's covered in red wax, over the month of time I got her. Since 2 days she's folded out her beautiful flowers and stood proud on the mantelpiece on her waxed root till this afternoon when I heard something hit the floor... she'd lost her balance and had fallen down. Apparently she'd swung gently to the floor as only some of her flowerheads have broken off. They're beautiful still so I pictured them next to their origin.
The waxed bulb feels half emptied now that the amarilis has grown so big and blooming; no wonder the balance of earlier is gone. As she's still crowned with flowers I put her bulb in a vase for support... A new lesson learned!
