23, le petit cachée

It's my colleague, Steve, who usually manages the petty cash but he wasn't in today and I needed to get some money out to cover some expenses. (Cakes, actually.)

Many years ago, another (and erstwhile) colleague of mine, Mike, told me that we get the term 'petty cash' from the French 'petite cachée', which I took at face value until today, when I Googled it. Ho hum.

This isn't really the combination to our petty cash box, incidentally. I was just being a bit Illuminati.
