inspired by a bag of kindling

We have been buying little polythene bags of kindling from the supermarket so we were delighted to find this huge bag for sale at Low Sizergh Barn today. Our research informs us that briquettes are the most efficient type of fuel, but we couldn't resist trying the bag of logs.

Eventually, we will have to decide what fuel we really want and stock up with a good winter's supply. Our wood burning stove is still a novelty. It's only a small fire, but after about an hour,we are luxuriating in a cosy heat which has proved soporific for one supper guest!
