Is There a Word For It?

A sort of day where there's really not much to say? Grim weather, nothing much doing, spent quite a lot of time cutting fabric and sorting it into little bundles in preparation for tomorrow's class. 

Then persuaded myself to start  hand-sewing the binding on a quilt. I usually do this on the sofa, but today I made myself sit at a table and do it properly. And I used the object above, which I bought a few months ago and forgot about till now.

I don't know if it has a name. It's a kind of thimble. But you wear it on your thumb. A thumble, maybe?

Whatever it's called, it works very well!
