Sunrise at Bagan
We were up very early again this morning, but not for a flight. This time we went to a modern tower near Bagan to see the sunrise and watch the iconic hot air balloons that rise up in their droves to take tourists to see the temples scattered across the fields. The crowds of photographers from the sunset shoot did not materialise in the cold darkness! (Perhaps they were all in balloons.)
It was a wonderful sight in very low light. Gradually the sun began to warm the scene. The light changed a lot.
My favourite image this morning was taken of a flock of crows who had settled on a wall, half way down the tower. I love the recession in the image, with one of the many small temples rising from the mist in the background.
In the evening, after many adventures during the day, we were back in this area to catch the sunset light. I noticed a very smartly dressed young woman who was carrying her hair looped over one arm. She said it had taken 6 or 7 years to grow it. We chatted and I discovered that she is a paediatrician in training.
