Condo living
Feel free NOT to read, (always, of course) but I promised to explain this once... to someone.....
The only photos I have from the day are the condo. I went to a class this morning but the rest of the day was here. H and our next door neighbor, F, spent 2 hours with a plumber trying to determine why there is 5 gallons a day of pretty clear water dripping in one of the garage storerooms underneath, 2nd level down, belonging to floating home owners (this owner is in Az for months.) To no avail. Need a leak detector.. Can’t come for 3 weeks. Someone has to empty the large container of water everyday. There is a humungous wine rack in there full of wine no one wants to move. That’s # 1. We took pictures of possible sprinkler system pipes to send to the sprinkler guy, but pretty sure that’s not the source as the water is not turned on yet. F was also overseeing new floors being put in today for neighbors who are in California for 2 months (damage from a leak when they were away last summer!). also F was coordinating with the railing guys who were to install the last of the roof deck railings today (one had to be redone as it broke, but it didn’t fit today either so it will need to be redone and coordinated in another week) It’s the far end unit.. those neighbors are in Thailand... Are you getting the gist? I felt sorry for H and F so MADE them a nice dinner tonight.
The blip is our 9 unit condo showing the new little black railing on the top (minus some of the far end unit, which is the largest)) that we had to do as some neighbors built up their decks (knowing it was illegal) so the parapet wall was not high enough for the building code. Long story , much discussing of solutions… resulting finally in a small railing for the 6 who have non compliant decks (Our insurance co. would not insure the building unless we made it to code) but of course the 3 of us who did not do that and were not interested in having any railing (or paying for it!) had to go along with this plan so it looks the same.
The good part is that I think it looks way better than I was expecting, yeah! Yes, that electric pole leans!) (extra is the inside.)
If you want any other advice about moving to a condo, ha, just ask! I’ll try not to mention condos for a long time now…
