Feeling grown-up with Lucy
Oh I do love sunny Saturdays in Chorlton!! Up with the larks (obvs), cuppa, porridge then my husband and I split up to get some chores done before our weekend guests arrived.
I was the lucky one. Pram free, I toddled to the farmer's market to buy dinner. He did some last minute DIY on our revamped guest room. Audrey slept. In fact, she slept a lot today. Alarmingly so. What kind of night are we in for, God only knows!?!
Our guests Lucy and Paul arrived in time for a lovely pram walk, stopping off on Beech Rd (pictured) for Tim Burgess's coffee (true story) and cake. Lucy and Paul are expecting their first child in January so we tried not to regale them with too many horror stories of sleepless nights and lost lives.
Lucy watched me bath Audrey and sing lullabies to her. We then lay on the bed watching the baby monitor to ensure she was asleep; but ended up giggling like schoolgirls in the dark at the absurdity of it all - Lucy pregnant, me a mother!!! We've known each other ten years and been through so much together - new jobs, new houses, new cities, new boyfriends, weddings...and now children. It all feels so grown up and surreal yet we still couldn't help but giggle about it!
