Catania - Pecheria

After a miserable, 3-hour drive to Catania on the bus, we were picked up by the boyfriend's Catanese friend and driven to the (free)accommodation he had kindly arranged for us. There he patiently waited as we showered and changed before taking us to his parents house for an incredible, home-cooked (obviously) Sicilian meal. It was spectacular.

After bread and salame, pasta with sausage, a meat course, a cake, digestivi and coffee, we were then chauffeured back into the city centre to meet another two of the boyfriend's Sicilian buddies for some drinks in the square.

The following day we had a nice relaxing wander around Catania, taking in the sights, some shopping and some dolci (awesome granita and canoli). We then met the incredibly kind Catanian for a meat-based meal at the boyfriend's old favourite haunt, before heading to the pub for some drinks with more friends.
