Uh Oh.... Where are the Stepping Stones?

The worst storm in years has been and gone. We here in Blenheim got off very lightly. Our rain gauge measured 99mm over the two days. That is a huge amount of rain for Blenheim. The Taylor River is up and the Omaka Ford is flooded again. Maisie was puzzled to find her favourite Stepping Stones are under water.
There are very grim images on the Internet, Print Media and TV of the horrendous damage cause by ex-Cyclone Gita’s fleeting but vicious visit to New Zealand. Buildings, farmlands, bridges and roading took a big hit. The Marahau area where Hannah and Alex live was badly damaged. The only road into Golden Bay over the infamous Takaka Hill is badly damaged and impassable. We now need fine dry settled weather to allow folk to work at repairing damage.
