Lunna

A frosty morning, but it soon thawed as the sun came up.  It's been a really calm and sunny day, and could feel some warmth too.  More please, feels like spring is almost here!

I've been working up in the museum office again today, and plenty more photos scanned and on our archive.  The museum was busy with toddlers first thing.  I had an interview in the afternoon, same as before about the Shetland dialect.  A lovely evening for a walk with Sammy, and then off to work in the pub later.

I had a few photos to take at lunchtime, and managed to squeeze in a quick walk too.  This is a lovely place, with a fantastic view.  Lunna Kirk in the foreground, built in 1753 by the Hunter family, and Shetland's oldest Kirk still in use.  Lunna House was built for a laird in the 17th century, and was also a base for the Shetland Bus operations in WWII.  Behind is Lunna Farm, and it's lovely old farm house and buildings.  Sure is rich in history here.  Taken at Lunna, Lunnasting.
